European Union supports Libya efforts to recover assets abroad

A meeting was held on Thursday, November 26, 2022, at the Libyan Asset Recovery and Management Office (LARMO)’s headquarters in Tripoli, with representatives of the European Union Delegation to Libya- led by Ms. Lise Pate, Head of the Libyan Office, Mr. Guillaume Fine, Deputy Head.

Representing LARMO was Mr. Muhammad Jumaa, Head of the International Cooperation Unit, as well as other unit managers.

The participants discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the EU delegation and LARMO and to strengthen communication with EU countries holding Libyan assets. Ms. Pate also expressed the delegation’s appreciation and support for LARMO’s efforts to recover Libyan assets abroad and use them for the benefit of all Libyan people, stressing the EU’s willingness to cooperate with LARMO in terms of human resources development and performance improvement.

For his part, Mr. Muhammad Jumaa gave a souvenir to the EU representatives bearing the LARMO logo, in appreciation of the delegation’s support.
