The Libyan Asset Recovery and Management Office Participates in Key Meeting to Enhance National Capacities in Combating Corruption and Money Laundering in Tunisia

Tunis, February 15, 2024 – As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Libyan national capacities in fighting corruption and money laundering, the Libyan Asset Recovery and Management Office actively participated in the Steering Committee meeting held in Tunis.

The meeting, attended by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and various national and international entities, focused on discussing progress made and setting priorities for 2024, as well as endorsing the key points discussed.

The Office’s participation in this meeting underscores its commitment to continuously work on recovering Libyan funds and efficiently managing recovered assets, as well as enhancing international cooperation in this field. It also highlights the pivotal role the Office plays in promoting transparency and justice, and supporting the Libyan state’s efforts in combating corruption and money laundering.

The Office emphasizes the importance of this participation in expanding cooperation with international partners and exchanging essential expertise and information to achieve its goals in asset recovery and management effectively.
